The Israel Museum<\/a> is the largest cultural institution in the State of Israel and is ranked among the world\u2019s leading art and archaeology museums.<\/p>\n

Founded in 1965, the Museum houses encyclopedic collections, including works dating from prehistory to the present day, in its Archaeology, Fine Arts, and Jewish Art and Life Wings, and features the most extensive holdings of biblical and Holy Land archaeology in the world. In nearly seventy years, thanks to a legacy of gifts and generous support from its circle of patrons worldwide, the Museum has built a far-ranging collection of nearly 500,000 objects, representing the full scope of world material culture.<\/p>\n

Ruth Young Wing<\/h4>\n
The Israel Museum, Jerusalem\u2019s Ruth Young Wing,<\/a> founded by Ayala Gordon in 1966, in tandem with the establishment of the Museum, serves as an interactive educational centre for presenting, creating and experiencing art. Initially it was Jerusalem\u2019s only art education institution for children offering thousands of participants access to classes and workshops.<\/div>\n

Since then the Ruth Young Wing for Art Education has been responsible for the Museum\u2019s teaching and enrichment programs, and also for making its content accessible to audiences of all ages and backgrounds. It is regarded as one of the world\u2019s foremost museum education enterprises.<\/div>\n

The Ruth Young Wing\u2019s activities encompass five departments: art classes, enrichment, guided tours, teacher training, and programs for the public at large. The enriching annual programs include; tours, classes, and art workshops as well as explanatory props and texts accompanied by printed and digital games.<\/div>\n
